Bryant J. Lum, M.D.

Dr. Lum is the only glaucoma specialist in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. He is also trained in advanced cataract and refractive surgeries. Dr. Lum has helped many doctors across the country learn his cataract surgery techniques. He has been an innovator in bringing new techniques such as clear cornea cataract surgery, presbyopic IOL correction and LASIK refractive surgery to Ventura County.

Dr. Lum was among the first surgeons in Southern California to perform No-stitch, No- Needle, No-Patch, Clear Cornea Cataract Surgery using state of the art "phacoemulsification." A major advance in cataract surgery, this procedure can be performed in less than ten minutes on an outpatient basis. Most patients can resume normal activities the day of the surgery, and many patients are seeing better minutes after their surgery.

Dr. Lum is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the internationally respected Jules Stein Eye Institute of UCLA. He believes that it is important for successful surgeons to donate their time to the training of the next generation of eye doctors. In recognition of this conviction, he volunteers his time each month, training new eye surgeons in his surgical techniques.
